Environmental Services ECOpronia
Environmental Services:
Water/Soil sampling & analysis and Site surveys
Water - Domestic supplies including boreholes and wells and irrigation water for agriculture, horticulture.
Waste Water - Trade and industrial wastes
Soils - Major nutrients and trace elements for agriculture, horticulture.
Wastes and Manures - Nutrient and trace elements.
Contaminated Land - Site surveys for industrial and domestic land.
Ecopronia provides packages offering the following services:
Water Sampling/Analysis
Sampling and analysis of Borehole, Well and Irrigation water supplies to establish the concentrations of parameters listed in the water supply regulations. Analytical packages include:-
-basic parameters, namely pH, conductivity, odour, nitrate, lead, turbidity, E.coli and coliforms with the addition of iron and manganese.
-extended parameters to establish water quality, as listed above plus sulphate, hardness, alkalinity, ammonia, suspended solids, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, aluminium, copper and zinc.
-analysis of specified parameters as required, taken from those listed in the water supply regulations.
In addition we can undertake sampling and analysis of watercourses for phosphate, nitrate, ammonia, BOD, COD and pesticides in order to monitor the water quality.
Waste water
Sampling and analysis of waste water and effluents for trade and industrial wastes. Analytical packages include:-
Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD)
- settled, unsettled or filtered
- total 5 day, 5 day ATU
Chemical oxygen demand (COD)
- Settled, unsettled or filtered
Suspended solids
Total ammoniacal nitrogen
Total non-volatile matter (oils and greases)
Soil Sampling/Analysis
Soil sampling can be arranged, with up to two specific horizons to a depth of 600mm.
-standard analysis of soil samples includes mineral nitrogen (ammonia and nitrate) and mineral sulphur. In addition nitrite nitrogen and stone fractions (greater then 5mm) can be determined.
Routine soil analysis for farmers and horticulturalists includes pH, P, K, Mg and Lime requirements.
Wastes and Manures
Composted wastes intended for growing medium or soil improver
The Compost Association principal grade analysis comprising pH, electrical conductivity, bulk density, water soluble & total nutrients, toxic elements, particle size, inert contaminants, Salmonella, E.coli, bioassay for phytotoxic residues & weed propagules..
Organic Wastes
A range of determinands including dry matter, pH, ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen, electrical conductivity, oil/fat, chemical oxygen demand, biochemical oxygen demand, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel & zinc.
Slurries (total solids less than 10%)
A similar range of determinands to organic wastes but with total solids replacing dry matter and with the addition of ash.
Sewage Sludge
Nutrients and toxic elements, dry matter,pH, ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel & zinc.
Organic Manures
Fertiliser value-dry matter, pH, ammonium nitrogen, total nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, sulphur, ash and in the case of poultry manures uric nitrogen.
Contaminated Land
Suffolk Soils provide a service for the examination of potentially contaminated sites, including:
brownfield sites
landfill sites
domestic gardens
recreation & amenity areas,
agricultural land
housing developments
commercial & industrial developments
contaminated ground
surface waters
A full elemental scan to include: Arsenic, boron, cadmium, chromium, copper, lead, mercury, nickel, selenium & zinc
